  • Comments Thread For: Dimitrenko Protest Approved, Last Fight Changed To DQ Win

The German Federation - the BDB - have acted upon an official protest from EC Boxing and heavyweight Alexander Dimitrenko - and changed the result in the fight Dimitrenko (41-3, 26 KOs) had against Miljan Rovcanin (18-1) on December 22 in Hamburg.

That was a terrible performance by Dimitrenko regardless of the result. The ref was even annoyed by Dimitrenko & his dive he took after getting barely tapped after a break was called. He went down like he got shot then jumped up when he realized how bad it looked. It was a terrible fight & Kabayel is going to easily beat him. It wouldn’t surprise me if he got stopped. He looked brutal & still escaped with a draw after his opponent lost 3 points. He was losing a terrible fight. His opponent landed more & was the aggressor. All Sasha did was hug. He should be embarrassed he needed this protest to secure a victory he did not deserve.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't Dimitrenko recently beat somebody he was heavily favored not to?

At this point, he's basically a journeyman - a good opponent to give an up and comer experience, especially against a taller guy.. Or a tuneup for a top HW coming off a loss, stay busy fight, etc.

Perfect guy to transition to the B-level fighters: Like going from the Owen "What the Heck" Becks of the HW landscape, to guys like Takam, or Duhaupas.

The first, and last time I watched a full fight of his with any interest, was against Eddie Chambers. Chambers exposed his slow feet, and lack of one-punch power: He boxed his ears off..

Sums it up. I lost a lot of respect for him after the acting up he did in the Parker fight - he didn't want to be in the ring at all, then cried and complained afterwards.

At this stage, he's just a name to feed to up and comers. I hope he doesn't come anywhere close to a meaningful fight in the future.

The reason he protested was to save the decent payday he will get against Kabayel in a Eueopean fight. He is next in line for Kabayel. The draw & he would have been replaced by someone else.

Yeah he was looking scared against Adrian Granat & threw a hail mary right hand that flattened Granat & he went on to score 1 1st round ko. That Chambers fight ruined him. He was never the same after. He had the fainting incident before the Sosnowski fight too. Coming up he looked decent after scoring ko wins over Luan Krasniqi & derric Rossy. Those wins put him in the eliminator vs Chambers.
