I like how Gassiev for the first half was on the backfoot towards the ropes. He blocked many jabs with his gloves. He made all the significant powershots and combinations. It looked like the way Bummelo was fighting Golovkin. Maybe Bummelo will knockout Triple Gee indeed. In the stadium it looked like Triple Gee had grey hair with one camera real close
The official Yunier Dorticos superhype bandwaggon train! ALL ABOARD!

Ortiz would have had it in round like 3. Dorticos is a G for that. But he underwhelmed in the second half.
Also the ref should have called it after the 2nd knockdown, if even that late. Dorticos was never gonna come back from that 1st knockdown frankly.Comment

Absolutely. The opinions on this fight were so polarized here, I hope that those who picked Gassiev (of which I was one) won't fail to give Dorticos his due. I assume he'll be back and I will definitely be more interested in seeing him again after this loss because he made a great case for himself.Comment

It’s not often I say this, but Dorticos needs a new trainer. All credit to Gassiev, but Yunier was getting crushed with the same combos over and over again. It was like, “Thank you, sir. May I have another?” Lol Murat stole Mike Tyson’s patent on the hook/uppercut combination, and slapped his name on it. It’s a goddamn miracle Dorticos lasted as long as he did. The man has a cast-iron jaw, and the heart to go with it. That said, what was Yunier’s corner advising him to do? Eat some more of the same leather, it’s good for you? And what did these guys work on in training? That was bad. No one can possibly weather an onslaught like that indefinitely. I’m still amazed Yunier lasted as long as he did.Comment

What Dorticos should do know is review the tapes and see where he did wrong.Comment
