    Pay Per View Question

About a year ago I cancelled my cable subscription ($80+ a month for garbage just didnt make sense in my opinion) but with 2018 looking to be a really good year for the sport, and the fact that MMA (ugh) is so huge up here, that MMA events are always on everywhere but boxing isn't I have a question.

Is it possible to stream these fights? Like does HBO and Showtime have an app that you can pay per use? I don't have (much) of a problem throwing $79 every few months at a great fight card, but I do have a problem paying $80 a month for something I don't use, just for the ability to throw $79 at a fight every few months.

and I mean legal streaming of course. Illegal live streaming is so awful and blurry you cant even tell if punches connect, not to mention the freezing.

    Anyway, thanks in advance!

Look into HBO now. It’s an app that after a quick google search it looks like it costs 15$ a month and you can stream programs live, but I would double check on that. I think Showtime has something similar but you got the internet so I’ll let you do your own research.

        I found this using google

Can I watch live events on HBO Now? | The iPhone FAQ

Apparently the streaming service won't offer live HBO programming, however, programs will be available on demand at the same time they premiere on the network. Live events such as boxing will typically be available within 24 hours, according to an HBO spokesperson contacted by The Huffington Post.

Showtime you can stream live but not HBO. HBO really got to get up on that.

I have a friend that has a games console and there's a subscription he has for it that has HBO streaming so I'm sure it can be done legally and good. I think it was on a PlayStation.

Less than $15 a month gets you the Showtime app, which let's you stream content live (Chromecast to my TV from my phone, and I get to watch the fights on my big screen).

Doubt that you can buy programming on a per event basis, but Showtime did sell the Mayweather-McGregor PPV direct to consumer on their website (it obviously had issues, but the move makes it clear that they're working towards that, or at least testing the viability of it).

No idea what HBO is doing

Showtime anytime allows you to watch live, but like other's have said, HBO doesn't. Cable companies suck, there aren't really anything you can do. You can try to look into direct tv now and see what they offer on hbo/showtime.

Only other thing I can think of would be to ask a friend who has showtime and use his log in and throw him a couple of bucks, but for HBO you'd have to wait till they upload the fight.

yeah, make matters worse, I'm in Canada lol.

HBO really needs to get with the times.

It’s called hbo now.. and you can do it anywhere as long as you have internet but they don’t have live boxing they put it on a couple days later.
