I always wondered why everyone hated Ohara Davies... this brings some context into it.

Trash talk should appear to be natural. It should roll off the tongue. No one appreciates someone who has rehearsed lines or, in Davies case, tries way too hard to be controversial just so they can play the villain role.

Which isn't saying a whole lot since guys like Joshua, Thurman, Crawford, Mikey Garcia are earning just as much or more without being toolbags.

Mayorga and Miranda were the only trash talkers who I thought were entertaining. Mostly because they did it knowing full well they didn't have a chance in hell of winning.
Broner has a huge "wannbe gangster" fan base. I swear - I've never seen more fake thug posers than at a Broner fight. I had to smack one of his fans once - smacked the inverted bandanna right off of his head.

Many loved to hate Prince Naseem Hamed. It was the same with Floyd Mayweather.
Not really. Lampley & Merchant just made it seem that way. ***g0t that he is.

And Mayorga didn't even try to trash talk. That's just the way he was. A man's man like Duran, no act.
