Can't even bring myself to consider any other fight than Mikey.

They are wasting this guy's prime.
I don't think Arum wants it (at this time anyway), but Mikey never does himself any favours by pricing himself out. He just dropped a Linares fight to fight Sergey Lipinets and wanted a Cotto fight but expects GBP to lose money doing so.

I agree with most of your post except the Lipinets fight. As a boxing fan, I'd rather see this fight than Linares. I think this will be more competitive. But, I hear you, Mikey's got a big ego.

Is he making more money with Lipinets than he would have with Linares? I wouldn't think so. So I don't know the reasoning behind that.

That is where he is comfortable at and each fighter should fight at his best. Not Loma’s fault the division are a bunch of hoes when it comes to facing him.
If there is no one for you to fight, you move up. It's that simple.

Ward was #1 or #2 p4p, everyone at 168 ran from him (Well technically he beat them all actually.) What did he do? He went up to 175 and beat the guy boogeyman everyone was running from in that division back to back by decision and then knockout.

I'm putting Loma there because that's where everyone puts him. #1 or #2 p4p. When you are there - you fight the best at either your division, the division below you, or the division above you. But you face the best. You wanna be great and be considered great - you do great things.

Golovkin is up there in the p4p rn #1 or #2. He fought Jacobs then he fought Canelo. That's why he's up there. He fought the best. Even though I personally think Jacobs beat him, and Canelo beat him, they were both great fights that could have gone either way - at the end of the day he fought them.

Roman Martinez and Jason Sosa aren't fights you fight to put you #1 p4p. If those are the only fights you can get at your weight classes, then you move up and fight the best guy there instead.

This only applies to #1 and #2 p4p. You are held to that standard, you wanna be great and be considered great - do what the greats did.

Why do you guys act like no one wants to fight loma and gg?
You said it yourself. Rigo jumped from 122. He dared the challenge even though it seemed to be just for the paycheck. And those that are willing to fight are called bums after. Who at 130 is willing to fight Loma that these forums would not call a bum?

Everyone called Rigo a bum for doing what Loma won't do - move up and fight the best.

The best isn't even in his weight class. By the best I mean the best fighters overall, not just at your weight.

You aren't great until you do great things.

                Any source on this?

Seems unlikely to me & doesn't Beltran got a fight lined up?

Berchelt gots a fight off HBO coming up iirc so it seems like if he's doing fights off HBO that he could do something with TR/ESPN so I'd like to see the 1 vs 2 guy at 130 fight. I'm rooting on that fight happening.

I'd like to see Loma stick around 130 a lil longer. I wouldn't even hate seeing Loma fight Gamboa (even if I felt he lost to Sosa) as that'd be a good name to add to the resume while waiting on Tank to get a title back & some seasoning.

Beltran is fighing Paulus Moses next month. This thread is nonsense.

He's still in his 20s and has 11 pro fights, no real padding, just broke/humiliated one of the most hyped boxers of the past 5 years.

This is why most fighters **** around until their 40th birthday. Keep those expectations low then cash out.

Loma did it backwards & every "normal" fight they announce will be greeted with moans and disappointment...

I think the Lipinets fight will be solid but I was trying to point out more about how Mikey was trying to call out Linares, only to say never mind afterwards.
