Yes, it's true... He is ethnic russian with some korean blood, but born & raised in Kazakh lands.
Kazakhs consider him as one of their own though. -
Him and his brother looks more like mongolians than anything.

It's great how westerners are so confused about identity, they even fail with their own agenda.
21st Century Westerners, ironically, have no understanding of general melting pots... Kazakhstani people gained their independence, be it a particular ethnic group and region from the former USSR....and yes, Russia has a mix of ethnic races, be it mongolid, caucasian, and Asia Minor groups South from the Black Sea.
Imagine a group of people saying that Andre Ward isn't American, that he is half Irish, and even mixed Irish along with various black ethnicities... to say such is pointless and ******. What does an "American" look like? Hence melting pot.
So Gennady is a Kazakh, a group of people primarily with epicandic fold phenotypes along with Alpine Caucasus groups...
Even if you said here were "Russian," it'd be like a state in the USA declaring a region for Native American indians with its own independence or a common wealth like Puerto Rico.
