    fights i would like:
    minimum
wanheng menayothin - knockout cp freshmart (winner is lineal but they said there is no chance for this fight to happen)

    light fly
ken shiro - ryoichi taguchi (winner is lineal and can be made realistically)

    fly
tanaka-kimura then tanaka or higa vs. nietes and then winners fight on new year's event (winner is lineal)

    super fly
everything is great here. no complaints. naoya-kun left this but that's life.

    bantam
nery - yamanaka, tete - narvaez, hearn is protecting burnett (i think he deserves an easier fight after deteting 2 champions in a row) so that leaves naoya no chance to fight for a belt in his first fight if it happens in the first six months. his brother and manny rodriguez won't fight naoya. solis - mcdonnell situation is not resolved. haskins and butler are targeting burnett. that leaves only payano from the upper echelon.
    so ideally for me:
nery - yamanaka winner vs. rigo (they said he can make 118 if needed)
    tete - naoya inoue
    winners fight next year

    super bantam
this division is not interesting at the moment. nobody will fight rigo and the rest are not that good.

    feather
frampton - donaire winner vs. russell or santa cruz
this division needs wbss badly but russell won't accept invitation :[ .

    super feather
lomachenko - berchelt (i think they are no. 1 and 2)

    light
mikey - linares (winner is lineal)
lomachenko is going after wbo belt first so we can't expect him against current champions until the end of the year.

    super light
lipinets is the only champion here so we have to wait for good fights.

    welter
    spence - gift garcia
everything else is not realistic or is practically sure.

    super welter
it seems castano and vitu will fight so that leaves hurd, lara and charlo free to unify.
    lara vs. hurd or charlo

    middle
ggg - saunders for all the belts

    super middle
winner of wbss - ramirez (no. 1 and 2 for me, winner is probably lineal)

    light heavy
kovalev vs. stevenson - jack winner

    cruiser
this is the best division for the last 3 years in terms of fights made. winner of wbss is lineal, top10 p4p and there is nothing left to prove. he can go to heavyweight.

    heavy
    joshua - wilder

Sadly, one of the defining characteristics of boxing is its treasure trove of 'what if's' or 'mythical matchups'.

This topic gets discussed almost as much as the fights that do happen.

How many times have people debated Tyson v Bowe or Gatti v Tszyu, and on and on.

And it is the politics to blame- the promoters mainly, and their sway and influence over sanctioning bodies.

I cannot see the situation getting any better, a great 2017 or not, boxing will always revert back to those with the most influence and power doing what's in THEIR interests.

I would most like to see Joshua v Wilder, but I actually think Wilder is the more hesitant of the two because he is the more vocal, always has excuses and hasn't shown a willingness to go the extra distance to make a fight happen.

And Purlease give the Povetkin/Ortiz PED argument a rest - this is a guy who purports to know who is clean and who isn't - yet pursued fights with fighter's he knew were doping? I'm sorry but that gives you the perfect excuse for not fighting them.

As for Golovkin and Canelo, they are both holding up the MW division with their prima donna bull****, or rather their promoters are - most fans would want to see that division play out with all the talent that's jammed in there- but of course, we won't.
Charlo, Jacobs, Saunders, Andrade, Dereyavchenko will all likely either aim at Saunders who will play possum to get the biggest pay-day he can and most likely some of these guys will eventually move up to SMW looking for belts, as that is one of the down-sides of having a unified or undisputed champion.
It's standard, but ridiculous that a No1 contender can wait as long as two years just to get a notice to step aside - it makes a mockery of hard work and working your way honestly up the rankings.
Now despite all that cynicism, let's hope the odds of boxing will still prevail, and we get one out of five... which fight would you pick if only one were available in 2018?

Haha, the two most shrewd duckers in the business with De La Hoya a close third with his 'marination' BS.

Crawford vs. Garcia? Who really wants that? How did Garcia vs. Lomachenko get left off the list?

I don't think Wilder is more hesitant than Joshua or Hearn. Wilder just has a stiff head, believes he is much more important than he actually is so he has no qualms with simply talking to a microphone than going to the UK to make a spalsh thereby generating more interest for the fight.

Joshua is the hesitant one, he doesn't want it for now and with what he says, seems like he wants the fight to be worth more money first. That may be true but I also think he don't want that Wilder hard work if he fights him now.

It's not Canelo holding out the division, it's GGG who has mandatories to handle, even Saunders (who keeps calling him out but it's all crickets) to finally go after and get that last belt but acts like Canelo is the only fighter in the middleweight division. Canelo has no belts, he is just another fighter in MW like the rest.

Lomachenko needs to stop begging Tank for a payday. Tank is focused on getting his world title back, first things first.
