  • Comments Thread For: Guillermo Rigondeaux Open To Fight Santa Cruz or Mares at 126

Former world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-1, 11 KO) is hoping to get in position to reclaim a title at super bantamweight, but he's also very open to fight the big names at featherweight - according to the boxer's manager Alex Bornote. Earlier this week, Rigondeaux was stripped of the WBA title at 122-pounds - because he moved up by two weight divisions to 130 to challenge WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko.

Rigo has always wanted to fight these guys. The question is will Mares or Santa Cruz accept the fight knowing Rigo bring no money, no fan base and a tough day at the office?

Maybe after his loss on of these guys will sack up and face him.

This is such an injustice and nobody even cares...I hate these fake a*s fans. **** all of them.

The guy can still make 118lbs - went up to 130 and fought the best fighter in the world and was stripped of his title 2 weight divisions lower, extorted for $15,000, and removed from the top 10 rankings.

        Disgusting.

Seen as the WBA stripped him for losing a fight two divisions higher they should make him mandatory for a shot at these guys.

It's hard not to think it's somehow, his fault. He's a very good boxer. But boring as ****. Who can say otherwise?

A lot of people including myself appreciate his skills and don't find him boring.

Anyways, what exactly is his fault about being treated unfairly?

This I agree 100% with. If they duck him, with him in a mandatory position, they should get stripped. They need to nut up and fight him since those guys and others ducked him outright.

Goodluck getting a big fight after that pathetic quit job.

No one wants to see you run and quit when you face a little adversity.
