Insider: Joshua... like a sledgehammer... Wilder like sniper riffle

Snipers can lay in wait from several yards away undetected and wait patently for their targets without threat of danger, though. The guy with the sledgehammer? Not so much.

There isn't really any competition here. Wilder not only punches with more power, but with significantly greater power. This is not even a contest! Compared to Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua is practically a feather fist who could barely even crack an egg.Comment

I don't think the sniper would be able to take the sledgehammer out with one shot though, he'd have to move in with the helicopter. That's when the sledgehammer will knock the rotor off.Comment

Wilder has awful technique and is sloppy as hell. At least Joshua picks his spots and does so with some skill. He's limited too, but he's Holyfield next to Wilder in the technique department. Of course it's modern heavyweights so one lucky shot (I hate to use that term in boxing but it applied given Wilder's laughable technique and style) could change things but conventional wisdom says the talented, more skilled guy lands first and then at will. Washington was boxing Wilder's ears off and he made Molina look good. These are D level guys. Joshua is around B+ level.
If Joshua opens up in the first round he may win in round 1 or round 2.Comment

Carlos Takam was walking right through Joshua's hardest punches like they were being thrown by a sissy little 10 year old girl. The same Takam who was knocked out cold, for the 10 count by a 6 foot 2, 220 pound natural cruiser weight midget in Alexander Povetkin who himself is a pretty weak puncher.
I'm sorry, but Joshua's power is almost non-existent when it comes to scoring legitimate knock outs and I don't mean premature 'typical British / UK stoppages'. Joshua's fists and punches are far too light and weak compared to Wilder.
Wilder could probably walk right through some of Joshua's punches like Takam did and some of Joshua's other opponents did without getting immediately knocked out. However, once Wilder manages to connect with a single clean right hand, Joshua goes down and doesn't get back up for a few minutes.
This is a mismatch in favor of Wilder. Joshua has nothing to bother Wilder with. Joshua lacks punching power and his boxing skills aren't really better than Wilder's. Wilder has a better jab and makes Joshua look like he is moving in slow motion due to the embarrassing speed gap between the two athletes. That's how much faster Wilder is in comparison to Joshua.Comment
