Why is no one talking about 'Pretty Boy' Josh Kelly?

You likely have heard of 'Pretty Boy' Josh Kelly and if you haven't, there are videos on YouTube, highlights doe - we know how those goes, more like sales video of an individual. Highlights or not, he looks great, he seems like the Lomachenko of the Welterweight division.

Sure he has very few fights and they are against cakes but mehn, he does look amazing yet no one is talking about him.

More than that, he is British and we know how easily British hypes up their own. Even they are not pumped on him yet.

What do you guys think about him?

He looks talented, but until he wins against better opponents most will assume he’s gonna fail once he steps up the opposition. Also not sure lomachenko is the best comparison, PBK’s footwork isn’t quite the same and he uses upper body movement more in defence

Because most people here don't like to rely on eye test alone. I don't care if I am wrong I know a talent when I see one and I believe he will win a title at some point.

He looks nothing like Loma to me. Reminds me more of Naseem Hamed with his style. He's looked amazing so far but he's not had any real opposition that could test him.

He's one to watch for sure because he has obvious natural talent, but talent only takes you so far. He under performed at the Olympics. Does he have the focus and mentality that is required to get to the top? Can he adapt when things don't go according to plan in the ring?

I was actually just reading a 'One to watch in 2018' piece on the Sky sports website.
Jamie Moore had this to say on Kelly :

Josh Kelly has got everything; an unconventional style and defence and I am a big fan of his body shots, that he sneaks in - a bit like Naseem Hamed used to. Kelly is not quite up there with 'Naz' in that respect but I am a fan of Adam Booth and he has taken Kelly to a new level.
It is no good him treading water next year against people on his supposed level. He doesn't have to look good against someone with more experience but he will learn so much more. I want to see Kelly fast-tracked and normally we say fighters are ready for a British title shot at around 15 to 18 fights, but he's had four and I'd put him in now.

For the record, Froch picked Bivol, Malignaggi picked M.Garcia, Nelson picked Benn, Coldwell picked Josh Taylor and Bellew picked Cordina.

I actually think the hype needs to be calm down a bit.

Great read! I think Bivol is another guy to watch too.

The fast tracking process can be against the likes of Garcia or fighters on that level. I feel he will school Garcia.

Thurman, Spence, Crawford even Porter might be too much to handle for now.

He looks very good but he needs time. Flashy boxers like him always look good against journeymen. I think he's the real deal and we should know more by this time next year.

Funny enough, there is really no hype at all thatz why I posted it here to get people's opinion on him.

He looks talented but not really refined yet, seems too 'excited' in the ring too.

I'm big on him doe, hopefully he matures into an amazing top level fighter cuz Welterweight is no joke.
