Styles make fights, and I don't know if Canelo will be able to deal with the likes of Saunders, Charlo, Derevyanchenko and Jacobs. Whether it's Mayweather, Lara or Trout, we've seen that Canelo has issues with technically sound boxers. It doesn't help that Mayweather, Lara and Trout are smaller and weaker than the aforementioned middleweights. Canelo may or may not become the best middleweight; only time will tell.

Boxers can age overnight, but I don't think GGG's style would really degrade that much from age. Fast fighters, with cat-like reflexes usually take the biggest hit from father time. GGG is more of a slow, accurate puncher with a strong jab, but who knows?

Nobody can see the future, so you don't know what'll happen in May. You can only tell us what you think will happen. I think that GGG will shift his focus more towards body shots, and Canelo will work on his conditioning.

LOL I see "the usuals" are out in force in this thread. There's some of them listing Charlo, who has one fight against a bum at the weight, above GGG.

The real answer is pretty simple, GGG is the only one who has even come close to solidifying himself as THE middleweight in the post Martinez era.

Cotto ran away, Canelo lost to GGG in the eyes of most and was booed out of his arena. He may be ranked second but that is mostly dependent on how one views BJS. I certainly believe the latter has the ability to beat Canelo but his achievements are still some distance behind GGG.

Jacobs is a distant third or second (if I list Canleo/BJS as 2a and 2b). He is only living off of the reputation of surviving GGG and looked horrible last time out. Charlo shouldn't even be in consideration.

      1. GGG

      2a. Canelo
      2b. BJS

      3. Jacobs
