Comments Thread For: Valdez-Quigg Nearly Done Deal for March 10 at StubHub Center

A deal has nearly been finalized for Oscar Valdez to defend his WBO featherweight title against Scott Quigg. Assuming it is consummated, Valdez-Quigg will take place March 10 at StubHub Center in Carson, California. ESPN will televise what is expected to be an action-packed, 12-round, 126-pound title fight as part of promoter Top Rank's exclusive ESPN series.

This is gonna be an epic fight and early possible FOTY candidate!

Picking Quigg by TKO, he's gonna see them wide @ss hooks unless Valdez can turn it up a notch and I'm a fan of Valdez

Hopefully Russell Jr vs Jo Jo Diaz is on the undercard. Russell Jr doesnt fight top opponents regularly enough, or fight at all regularly enough, to build a fanbase big enough to be more than an undercard boxer, despite his talent, and Jo Jo Diaz is new on the scene and hasnt had as much time to build a main event type of fanbase either.

I've wanted Valdez to fight Frampton or Selby for some time now but this match up is much better. Styles make fights and this will be a war. Hopefully Ricky Hatton will be involved with Scott Quigg's ring walk.
