The WBC didn't manufacture that. HBO did. HBO refused to buy Sergio's mandatory fight, and therefore, Sergio refused to face his mandatory. HBO wanted Sergio to vacate. Then they bought Chavez vs the mandatory.

What was the WBC supposed to do? They couldn't force Sergio to take the fight and they couldn't force HBO to buy it. WBC had no choice but to strip Sergio.

They told martinez that if he dropped his title, he would be awarded with their diamond title and allowed to challenge the winner of the belt at any point he wanted. But then they went back on their word and allowed Chavez jr to delay the fight with martinez even longer by taking 3 other fights after winning the belt before taking on martinez .

WTF? Rios giving an opportunity over Spence. I think Spence & Patterson should be an eliminator. Fighting one time of the year and prolonging the matchup against Thurman. I think in this case Spence does need a promoter.

WBC had no way of knowing HBO would refuse to buy Sergio's fight and urge Sergio to vacate. Sure the WBC tends to favor Mexicans, but often it's because Mexicans tend to favor the WBC and organizations cater to the fighters that want to pursue their titles.

The WBC definitely wasn't colluding with HBO because Sulaiman was pretty pissed at the time that HBO was demanding that Sergio vacate. It made the WBC look really bad. They didn't want Sergio vacating. Once he did though, Arum targeted that title for Chavez Jr. But remember, Zbik had been interim champion for TWO YEARS before Chavez fought him.

The mandatory had been delayed by Sergio many times. Eventually the WBC had no choice to strip him.

Why would anyone be surprised? The WBC are a joke. Sure you are going to get promoters or managers that would lobby for their fighters to be ranked or get a shot, but it’s up to the WBC to do what’s right for their belts. They are really We Be Crooks.

Crawford will be fine in 2018 with Horn and Pacquiao. 2019 is where the problems start. He's obviously not gonna go through the gauntlet of PBC fighters, but the hope is he fights the guy that remains standing. The sooner we get to that guy, the better.

Rios who said he retired after looking HORRIBLE 2 years ago comes back and beats a bum Herrara who lost 3 fights in a row before going to Mexico and fighting 3 bums in 5 months with a combined record of 15-24. And beating a guy like that gets you a title eliminator? Rios is not even top 30 ranked at 147 by boxrec, is not on ANY reputable 147 rankings and not even ranked by the other joke abc orgs WBO, IBF, WBA yet somehow he is mysteriously ranked as the 11th best welterweight by the crooked WBC and granted a eliminator. And Garcia is coming off a loss his damn self. Suiliman how much did Haymon pay your fat azz of to sanction this?
