"The WBC had actually wanted Porter and Garcia to fight in a final eliminator last year, but there was very little interest from Garcia's camp."

Garcia's camp said Porter isn't Zab/Morales/Salsa so we'll take "time off" instead.

But what really sucks is we won't get Thurman vs Spence/Crawford, instead we'll get Thurman vs Tune up, Thurman vs porter, then Thurman vs Garcia, all crap we've seen and don't need to see again

what a joke from the crooked WBC. Rios who said he retired after looking HORRIBLE 2 years ago comes back and beats a bum Herrara who lost 3 fights in a row before going to Mexico and fighting 3 bums in 5 months with a combined record of 15-24. And beating a guy like that gets you a title eliminator? Rios is not even top 30 ranked at 147 by boxrec, is not on ANY reputable 147 rankings and not even ranked by the other joke abc orgs WBO, IBF, WBA yet somehow he is mysteriously ranked as the 11th best welterweight by the crooked WBC and granted a eliminator. And Garcia is coming off a loss his damn self. Suiliman how much did Haymon pay your fat azz of to sanction this?

Yes Jeff Horn vs. Corcoran is much better . . .
The bum comment was aimed at rios but, no I don't want to see Thurman fight Garcia either. I'd much rather see him fight Spence or Crawford after the porter fight.

Everyone would obviously rather see him fight Spence or Crawford, but the WBC would still have to determine a mandatory for 2019 at some point. That doesn't mean Thurman won't unify with Spence eventually.

As for Crawford, highly unlikely he ends up fighting any top welterweights as long as he's with Top Rank.

nobody should be surprised by this. Wbc is the same organization that stripped Sergio martinez in order to manufacture a way to make Chavez jr their champion. They're also the ones who allowed Canelo to fight for a 154 pound title vs Matthew hatton who wasn't even a ranked fighter at his regular weight of welterweight. They also let garcia originally win their belt vs Robert guerrero who hadn't had a decent win in yrs. All organizations are corrupt but wbc takes the cake.

The WBC didn't manufacture that. HBO did. HBO refused to buy Sergio's mandatory fight, and therefore, Sergio refused to face his mandatory. HBO wanted Sergio to vacate. Then they bought Chavez vs the mandatory.

What was the WBC supposed to do? They couldn't force Sergio to take the fight and they couldn't force HBO to buy it. WBC had no choice but to strip Sergio.

Two fighters that haven't done anything lately are going to be given a chance to fight for the WBC title. And Keith Thurman has that title, so that will be a rematch. We all know this fight is being done just so DSG can get that shot, cause Rios isn't beating DSG and everyone knows that.

Vargas, Porter II, Garcia II. It will be a long time before we see Thurman-Spence. Late 2019 at best if everything goes according to plan. 2020's a better bet.

In addition to that, Crawford is gonna have to wait a long time to get a crack at one of those guys.

If everything goes according to plan, Thurman-Spence will be the big March PBC fight in 2019. Garcia would be getting his title shot AFTER Thurman-Spence, not before. Porter hasn't even gotten his shot yet and after he does, Garcia's shot won't be due for at least a year.

Crawford will be waiting forever regardless. He's exclusive to Top Rank. He's not going to be fighting any of these guys.
