Spence and Crawford seem to be the best to me. Of course, Crawford hasn't even fought at 147 yet, and his best win is Postol. And although Spence only has one credible opponent, it was Brook, in Brooks own backyard. And he broke Brook's eyesocket and probably bruised or broke a few ribs too. Thurman has two good wins, Porter and Garcia, so I get putting him up there. But if he doesn't fight Spence in 2018, Thurman drops for being so scared. And once Crawford beats a schoolteacher... nah, its still a schoolteacher who has never fought out of Australia. Don't care, Alexander, Berto, Peterson, Ali, all probably beat the Hornet 7 days a week.
Spence is #1 for wanting to fight the best. He's been chasing Thurman for years now. Literally. And it is always a different excuse for Thurman. If Thurman wants respect he needs to fight Spence. Fighting Vargas and then Porter again just proves that he hasn't gotten any worse, but that he hasn't gained any courage yet either. And Crawford needs to tell Daddy Arum he wants the best. And the best is not some schoolteacher. If Arum won't do it, like everyone already knows, he needs to ditch Arum. Otherwise he is even more scared than Thurman and deserves a big drop in rank also.
I don't like Porter, don't like his style, don't like his personality, but I have to admit I respect the man. He will fight the best. Well, maybe not Spence, but you can't blame him for that. Anyone else at 147 and Porter will sign immediately. I gotta love that. He has more courage than Thurman and (Danny) Garcia put together.
