There's 4 months until the fight date what's the rush? Not like it's going to happen any sooner. You don't want to announce a fight too far out, it loses some of the hype.
It's a shame a 27 year old fighter in his absolute prime has to take 8 months off between fights.
I realize Golovkin's chasing the big payday but as a fan, I would have rather seen him stay busy, keep fighting 3X a year, break Hopkins title defense record and retire.
