Which is it? Nothing will change? Or Dana White & PBC shake things up?

Would love to discuss it. But would hate for you to find it pointless.

I am sorry. Happy new year. Let's discuss, do you think Dana white and PBC can shake up boxing in 2018?

It's a step in the right direction.

Hopefully they'll be down to 17 by the end of the year.

Haymon is Dana's best chance to take over boxing. Dana is Haymon's best chance to take over boxing. So one must assume it's something they're discussing. Doesn't mean anything will happen, but they're both too smart to not explore it.

The real key is, can UFC use boxing to leverage an even better TV deal? Or will networks balk at having to buy one to get the other? Fox would want both, but would Turner? Would ESPN?

The answer to can they shake up boxing is oh hell yea. Will they? No idea. Haymon doesn't tell anyone they don't need to know. Have a friend that speaks to Haymon nearly every day that doesn't know a single thing about Haymon or what he's up to other than the business they do together. Al will open up about his life a little bit with certain fighters, but good luck trying to get a read on what he's up to.

Dana on the other hand isn't nearly as coy, but he's smart enough to know that the #1 way to get on Al's bad side is to talk publicly about Al. So we'll just have to wait and see what happens. PBC's plan the last two years was to wait to see how UFC's TV deal turned out so they could either replace UFC on FOX, or try to land a spot with a network that lost out on the UFC bidding war. Partnering with UFC opens up so many doors though. It really would be PBC's hail mary.

I agree! Since the UFC purposed deal from Fox was not as high as they suspected they may try to do a bulk deal with the boxing and UFC. And Mayweather promotions could also help. I like the idea.

Posted this a year and a half ago. Remember this post if WME buys PBC . . .
