You can criticise him if you like but he has fought decent opposition while he’s been a belt holder, you can’t claim he’s gone for fights he has been odds on winning each time because thats clearly not true. Other champions (not just wilder) have done just that and held on to titles.
yes when looking at his boxrec records he has wins against those 3.....

I'm not even criticising him which is the ironic thing. I'm just giving balance to the Hearn nonsense about this stool pigeon selling his paper belt. This is not a great fight. Joshua beats this chap very easily and by brutal KO within 5 or 6 rounds and he will make it look insanely easy.

Going life and death against several fringe contenders and having no impressive signature wins is not enough to Trouble Joshua. Some of you fellas really need to go back and watch Parker vs takem again.

You have Pulev at 4 for wins over Johnson and Peter correct and didnt include undefeated Parker who defeated Takam?

          Wilder - agreed
Takam - Parker beat him already
          Ortiz - agreed
          Bellew - complete joke
Haye - fought 1x in years and lost to that joke bellew
Duhaupas - you were just beyond desperate when you got to this point on the list.

If that's your list, you must think AJ is doing the most shameful thing ever in fighting Parker.
I think Hearn and Joshua are being very intelligent and taking the easiest money making fight that will sell well to casuals. Rarely do you get such an untested and average prospect like Parker in the rankings nevermind holding a belt. That last fella who held the belt Joshua now has was a very similar situation. Big black flabby guy. Martin was it? yeah him. utter rubbish. But it's business.

far better fighters he could fight?

Pulev, the mando gets injured in the last fight fair enough. Likely has been given hush money to take this easy fight first.

Povetkin another potential mando and clear no.2 in the division. Why fight him? when you can easily beat Parker with ease for more money.

I'm just a neutral who enjoys the division and can see the hype and nonsense the fanboys and casuals can't.

Why would Pulev get hush money? He lost is mandatory status the moment he couldn't compete in their scheduled bout. Takam became mandatory challenger.

You don't find that very su****ious? That you pull a legitimate injury and now all of a sudden you completely lose your mando status? That never happens.

He's more than likely been given money to stay waiting and will be fought within a few fights.

It's explicitly written in the IBF's rules and regulations that if a challenger pulls out of a scheduled bout then he is replaced by the next available challenger so no it's not su****ious.

So no he definitely has not been given money to stay waiting.

Does it only affect challengers? How come Klitschko wasn't stripped when getting injured for the Fury fight before it was rescheduled? So you think the rule is basically fight injured or lose your pay day? What an unjust disgrace to protect the home 'money' fighter if that is the case.

                      Relevant rule:

                      5. Limitation on Request for Exception; Unavailability after Purse Bid due to Illness or Injury
No Exception to Regulation can be requested once the IBF/USBA has sent out the notice of the date of the purse bid or a contract has been signed for a mandatory bout. In the event the Challenger becomes unavailable due to injury or illness after the purse bid has been held, the Champion will be ordered to begin negotiations under this rule with the next highest leading available contender. In the event the Champion becomes unavailable due to injury or illness after the purse bid has been held, and such disability has been proven to and accepted by a physician approved by the President of the IBF/USBA, he may be granted a medical extension not to exceed ninety days. If it is determined by the physician that the Champion will be disabled for a period to exceed ninety days, the Championships Committee, with the approval of the Board of Directors, may vacate the title.
