kovalev was never the same after killing roman simikov. prime kovalev literally kills prime ward. its a shame the past it kovalev dominated ward and got robbed and then ward ran away into retirment with another win after low blowing him over and over.

fact of the matter is most thought he lost the 1st fight and the 2nd fight was ended with illegal shots, blatantly illegal shots. Seem to be a lot of psychics on this site 'ward was going to stop him anyway' oh yeah cause theres never been a fighter in the history of the sport who recovered from being wobbled lol. Might aswell just end every fight once someones stunned 'its over, he would lose anyway'.

It doesn't matter what "most" think, as most people are biased. What matters is what happened. It's obvious who won. You don't like Ward, that's fair, but he won the fight and a single knockdown doesn't change the fact that he won the vast majority of rounds.

Ward looked better the second time because he had Kovalev completely figured out by then, not because he suddenly returned to his prime.

Kovalev won the first fight to me, he made ward very uncomfortable with his jab and right hand feints, especially when he set him up for the right hand and the knockdown happened. That fight was some very high quality stuff from Both fighters. In the 2nd fight ward didn't show that same hesitation anymore and it seemed he had Kovalev finally figured out after already spending 12 rounds with him. Bad stoppage from Weeks, but good performance from Ward and Kovalev still Showed some high level boxing skills even though he didn't have the determination that Ward had... he still wasn't completely schooled.
