see...this whole "CW for a unification" thing is nonsense....because afterall...hes been chasing canelo the whole time and he still dont have all the MW belts and instead of going for saunders hes going after canelo AGAIN

this whole dream to unify and unification nonsense is that....he could have fought canelo for just the WBC and lineal.......asked to get an exception or drop the other belts and he would be no worse than he is today.....but he flat out refused to even consider it......

what does golovkin need them trinkets for? IBF and WBA? he could have dropped them or asked that they stay out of the equation and fought for WBC and lineal......it would be no different...if he beat canelo even without WBA and IBF he would be considered the man and the undisputed champion......but he couldnt do that could he?

Exactly. He would handily lose that fight but it would still be a win. GGG would get props just for taking such a challenge. It would solidify his resume, and ensure he makes it into the HOF. You can also just chalk it all up to GGG being old. Win win.
