Oh damn, so are the same posters who use ring ratings and opinions on the mythical p4p list going to make up conspiracy about how a TR promoted fighter won FOTY from a magazine owned by GBP? No doubt a lot of the same folk who demanded the Rigo fight and were certain Loma would get schooled.

In all seriousness it could have been any one of Rungvisai, Lomachenko, Crawford, GGG. Whichever way they voted is fair enough. Definitely a nice accolade for him though to be awarded FOTY by the oldest and longest standing publication in the sport after just 11 fights is a great feather in his cap and no amount of salt or tears can erase that.

Good win over Jacobs and a draw which the vast majority felt he won over Canelo. Toney won FOTY in 1991 a lot of people felt he beat McCallum.

I think Lomachenko looked a lot better and is a much better fighter though so I'm not crying.

loma is a better fighter and has looked much better

comparing this years golovkin to toneys 1991 is crazy imo....toney didnt win it off the strength of a draw.....he fought 6 times lol

True, but my point is a controversial draw isn't the worst result in the world when the majority of fans and media scored it for him and it was the biggest fight of the year. Toney (one of my favorites ever btw) also won razor thin over Johnson (closer than GGG-Jacobs for example).

I'm sure you told me in the past you don't follow ring magazine.

Or is that only when you don't agree?

I'd have picked Golovkin but Loma is a fair choice

I think Golovkin would have won had he gotten the decision most people thought he deserved vs Canelo. Crawford maybe should have gotten it because he unified a whole division, even though he didn't have to beat a murderers row to do it. LOMACHENKO I guess is an ok choice, I don't think he beat anyone spectacular either but the way he made Rigo just quit may have won it for him in the end.
