  • Comments Thread For: Nelson: Joshua Should Fight Parker, Povetkin or Pulev, Then Haye

Former world champion and Sky Sports expert analyst Johnny Nelson has given his take on who IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) should face in the upcoming new year. It appears that Joshua's next fight will come up against WBO world champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) of New Zealand - likely at the end of March. The two sides are very close to finalizing a deal.

Again with Povetkin? Stop already 3 failed Ped tests and you still give him a pass he should get a title shot? Why?

Povetkin won't fight AJ... His promotor Andrey Ryabinsky already said that Povetkin is not ready for AJ at all.

Povetkin and Pulev are ranked in the top ten, if it’s Parker first and Wilder is refusing to accept terms whilst Furry is still obese these guys are the next best opponents.

Haye? Come on, the guy isn't able to look at a boxing ring without getting injured, much less get in one.

Nelson is actually up to something here. As much as I 'll like the Wilder fight by year end, it is somewhat obvious it is not going to get made. In consolation, this sequence of fight if can be consummated is actually pretty decent. Gives Joshua more seasoning, allows Wilder to build his profile, allow that slob Fury to get in shape, sort out his issues out and and get some ring time in and perhaps 2019 would see Joshua vs Fury and Joshua vs Wilder. I like it.

Identical logic to me, I agree completly. Then wilder and fury in 2019
