After reading this thread, I'm reminded how bizarre boxing fans are at times. All these post about Dana White and Mayweather. Neither one of them are leading these talks.

Dana does not control the UFC, especially not in regards to something like this. He's a manager/MC/figure head. Whatever is happening here has WME-IMG driving the deal. Ari Emmanuel, Patrick Whitesell, and Silver Lake Partners will call the shots on whatever is happening. With Haymon likely the one looking to save PBC on the other side.

My guess? It's "UFC Boxing", which they'll use to try and get the $400 million annually they're lookong for in the TV deal. That might involve some type of Mayweather deal. Maybe fighting, maybe promotion, who knows. But Floyd isn't some "genius" lol and Dana is just getting into boxing, which he's always been obsessed with doing.

I like Floyd but he isn't some great business mind people. He's just a fighter who connected with an independently successful guy in Haymon (Sold A.H enterprises in the early 2000s to SFX for north of $60 million. Also has several media properties that have performed well.), who looked out for him in the form of a 750k buyout. The rest is history.

Remember WME-IMG already attempted to buy boxing content from Top Rank. Let's just sit back and relax lol

Mayweather Promotions and PBC providing fighters so that Zuffa Boxing can put on boxing shows, which they will show on FOX as part of UFCs new deal.

This comment reeks of jealousy lol. If floyd pulls this off he is financially a genius. How many million dollar deals have you made?

No reason to be jealous big guy. I'm already making great money (well north of $100k annually) and I'm not even 30.

Just commenting on the silliness I see coming from all these grown men. It's embarassing. It's the reason "fanboy" gets thrown around so much. Some of you posters are like teenage girls.

And for the record: I've never made a million dollar deal where I had a significant financial interest. I have worked on a few billion dollar deals though.

I'm pretty sure we've been down this road before Jason Shaw lol

I think you're selling Floyd short. He may not be as brilliant as Al Haymon but he has a ruling class mentality as he is his own man. Going all the way back to when he referred to the HBO contract as slave wages he saw himself as a draw when Bob Arum didn't. Giving all the credit to Al Haymon is not fair. Floyd knows what he wants and Al delivers for him. That doesn't make someone a fanboy

The article opens suggesting that Mayweather may get in the Octagon. Later, it states that it's not known what the meeting will be about. A 40+ year old retired boxing-only trained man fighting MMA? FOH. It's a ****** idea, and if he somehow does do it, he will make sure his opponents will fight to some boxing-only type rules. That makes it not only more ******, but also utterly pointless.

                    ^^^wwcd

The UFC wanted $400m a year on their new TV deal, FOX has seemingly offered up something near $200m a year for the new UFC deal (up from the $100m per year of the first deal), and FOX's interest in boxing likely put another $100m a year on the table for Zuffa Boxing (FOX is already doing business with Zuffa, and they work well with Haymon).

No idea what the breakdown needs to be (4 FOX dates, 25 FS1 dates would be reasonable), but Haymon gives Zuffa/Dana White a pretty straightforward way to fill the content, without stress, and likely at affordable rates.

If Zuffa Boxing proves out, there's likely going to be a bump there too for the second deal (time out the deals to expire together, and Zuffa's next deal, say in 3-4 years, likely locks in the ~$4b over 10 years that they were looking for here).

UFC focuses in on building out their PPV shows with top fights, the amount of Zuffa Boxing content frees UFC to not have to dilute things so much with so many cards, and the fewer shows allow for focus to come back over just expansion.

I understand what you're saying, but a lot of people have the right mentality/vision. Doesn't mean they can execute and deliver on that vision. That's the story of a lot of guys with talent. (Especially in the hood and sports) I respect Floyd as a phenomenonal athlete. His discipline and dedication to his craft is something to be marveled at. But I also know if it wasn't for Al, he'd likely be in a very different situation. I salute him for aligning himself with the right team. That has to be praised, but he's no "genius". He does way too much clown **** to say something like that lol
