This is why the Loma fight is going to be very hard to make. Mikey will ask for the moon for that fight.

I like Mikey but I always felt like it was difficult to get him to fight the big fights.

He kind of wants everything to be perfect kinda like Ward to make a big fight happen.

Not that there's anything wrong with looking out for yourself but for mega fights to happen there has to be compromises.

I don't think Mikey knows how much he damages his image by talking about money every time he's asked about a fight. Yes, money is the reason he's in this sport. Same for Loma, AJ, Golovkin, etc. But, it really kills it for the fans when you fail to at least put on the image of a warrior. Just do what the others do and say you want to fight everyone. Is it that fking hard?

I don't think so at all. No one is beating Garcia right now. But, when Mikey came back he said he's focusing on getting paid and he sure wasn't lying. I really don't think he would avoid anyone but, like a lot of guys who reach this point in their career, he cares more about getting paid than building a legacy.

It's a career for these guys so I don't fault them if that's what they're doing. I just think he's making a serious mistake in being this transparent about it.

Yeah, I kind of agree with that. Mikey has been making/wants to make moves like he's a "boss" already. He only talks/wants BIG fights but I feel like there is still some "work" to be done before he reaches a level where he should only be involved in "BIG" fights especially if he is going to be doing all of this as a "free agent".
I feel like Mikey thinks that he is already "The" guy like AJ and Canelo are where, imo, he is really one of "The" guys like Keith, Spence, Loma, Bud and co.

Dude should have stayed retired, nothing but a big joke. Picking the easiest guys per division to claim himself a multi division champ, ducking Cotto, Linares and now even ducking much smaller Lomachenko.
