2018 will have very few PPV cards - More boxing on TV

I think 2018 will be one of, if not the year that will have the fewest PPV cards in more than a decade.

Which is very good, because then more fights will be on "free" TV.

Im talking about the US market, since the UK market is gonna have quite some, if not to much boxing on PPV.


Only fights I think could be on PPV in the US would be Canelo vs. Golovkin II and then Canelo's fight in September.

If Joshua vs. Wilder happens in the US, then that would be on PPV aswell.

Other than that I dont think HBO or Showtime would do any other fights on PPV in 2018.

Which I think is a good thing. If a fight would have to go on PPV, in my opinion it should atleast sell 500K buys.

There is no fighter with enough casual fanz to make a ppv fight but u right welder Joshua could b good the ggg/canelo winner vs Charlo might do well that's if whoever wins want to take that risk coming off back to back risk fights with each other

If Canelo win the rematch vs. Golovkin in May, he will of course be back on PPV in September.
But if Golovkin wins, I dont know.
A Golovkin win does not do over 200K on PPV, I dont think so.
And would HBO put Canelo on PPV if he loses to Golovkin?
Unless maybe it's for the WBO title?

I think that they will make that fight on CBS just like they did Thurman vs. Garcia and Thurman vs. Porter.
