You didn't say rule of thumb initially. The guy going forward forcing the other guy back gets credit if he moves him to where he wants. If on the way back the opponent counterpunches and outscores him then obviously Golovkin wouldn't get credit for moving forward and forcing Canelo to the ropes. That wasn't the case in this fight. Canelo didn't land punches as he gave ground. Canelo couldn't deal with Golovkin's forward movement and agressiveness so he ended up.on the ropes. Golovkin gets credit for effective agression and ring generalship. In the center of the ring when they exchanged Canelo did well but he was unable to maintain it. Golovkin's pressure and power made him abandon the center and retreat to the ropes. He also landed more punches than Canelo. Canelo didn't land as much as you think he did . A lot of those punches were blocked or partially blocked. When he did land hard punches they had very little effect on Golovkin. After the majority of exchanges Canelo was the guy that went backwards.
Canelo didn't fight enough in each round.
Canelo was clueless on how to nullify Golovkin's jab.
He got outboxed by Golovkin as I predicted. Golovkin didn't KO him like I predicted but you can't KO every opponent.

do you understand the difference between beating a middleweight, and receiving an award?

do you understand the functional difference that .2 lbs would make to a fighter?

you don't need a roadmap, you need to take an interest in golf or tennis..... something more your style
