    Fights are being penciled in for the 2018 boxing schedule, and the rematch between WBA featherweight titlist Leo Santa Cruz, and challenger Abner Mares is still looking for a date and venue. The fight has been ordered by the World Boxing Association, because Santa Cruz is the "super" champion for the sanctioning body at 126-pounds, while Mares holds the "regular" title at the same weight. Their bout was regulated to establish a single WBA belthodler at the weight as the sanctioning body looks to reduce their number of titles per division.

      Why on earth didn't they fight against each other on October 14th? Instead they fought tune ups in a near empty stub hub center. Does Al Haymon enjoy losing money?

              That was at Santa Cruz' request. Mares was ready to go on that date and LSC wanted a pointless tune-up before a fairly pointless re-match. Almost as pointless and useless as Thurman-Porter II IMO.

              I'd imagine Frampton III is next if Frampton agreed to fight in LA or Vegas (if he beats Donaire).

                  Why the fk would any fighter work with Richard Shaefer? The guy is a cancer to television networks.

                      There would be other good match ups for them as well but still, it could be lot worse. They had a fantastic fight in their first bout and this probably would be an exciting one as well. I dont mind this match up
