Let's give "Golden" Caleb Truax his props.

The man came from obscurity to convincingly beat Britain's first ever Olympic gold medallist turned pro World champion. He took it to James DeGale in his own back yard and relieved him of that IBF strap.

His only losses are to former World champions. At 34 years old he doesn't have a big window of opportunity. He should make a voluntary defence in the US before looking to unify or cash out. Don't do a Charles Martin though. Maybe even make a few defences then go out on top.

The man has my respect no matter what happens. I didn't think he had a chance but he proved me wrong. His victory has to be in with a chance of picking up the 'Upset of the Year' award.

Nice post. It's definitely a feel good story that's for sure. I think he was something like a 16/1 underdog?

      The current IBF rankings:

      Champion: Caleb Truax
      Interim: Andre Dirrell
      01.) N/A
      02.) N/A
      03.) Jose Uzcategui
      04.) Chris Eubank Jr.
      05.) Vincent Feigenbutz
      06.) Rocky Fielding
      07.) Caleb Plant
      08.) Roamer Angulo
      09.) J’Leon Love
      10.) Patrick Nielsen
      11.) Anthony Dirrell
      12.) Arthur Abraham
      13.) Peter Quillin
      14.) Stefan Hartel
      15.) N/A

I’d expect James DeGale to be in there somewhere when the new rankings are released in January. Also, John Ryder smashed #10 Patrick Nielsen, so could see Ryder enter the rankings with Nielsen dropping out. The winner of the ordered rematch between Andre Dirrell and Jose Uzcategui will be installed as #1. There is no reason for the Interim title to remain active. Obviously Chris Eubank Jr. is tied up in the WBSS so it’s a bit pointless having him ranked at the minute.
