Comments Thread For: Pascal: Adonis Stevenson Blew It, Our Fight Could've Been Huge!

Earlier this month, former WBC light heavyweight champion Jean Pascal announced his retirement from the sport. Pascal fought a long line of top opponents - like Sergey Kovalev, Bernard Hopkins, Chad Dawson, Carl Froch, and several others. But the opponent he pursued the most, current WBC world champion Adonis Stevenson, was not overly interested in making their fight.

Stevenson ducked Pascal he was not a safe enough fight for the coward. Hope Jack gets the fight and lifts the belt he seems willing to actually fight the best. Knowing Stevenson though he would be happy with a Fonfara trilogy instead.

I find it funny how many people genuinely think Adonis is scared. The guy is probably laughing all the way to the bank. He gets to hold the belt hostage while Al feeds him guys he can easily beat for high pay. I do hope he retires soon because he's bad for the division, but to say he's scared is laughable.... He would have easily destroyed Pascal and anyone who doesn't think so is kidding themselves. Chalk it it all up to him being scared though. It couldn't possibly have anything to do with his management.

Home grown rivalries are always big. Probably as big as the Khan vs Brook fight, if it materializes.

For some inexplicable reason, Adonis didn't want Pascal when it mattered.

Stevenson was scared doe. You're lying to yourself if you say otherwise.

The money was there, but he'd rather fight nobodies like Karpency, Bika, Fonfara twice...

Adonis is one of the biggest jokes in boxing. Quebecers will treat his legacy unkindly when he retires.

Adonis is a laughing stock in Canada. Too late for him to fix the crap he did on himself.

So give me your best shot why Adonis avoided the most lucrative fight that could have been made in Montreal. I'm not interested in hearing girly reasons like Pascal don't deserve it doe; he hasn't earn it doe; crap like that...
