    "Sergey Kovalev – The former light heavyweight titleholder not only was stopped by Andre Ward in their rematch; most believe he quit. "
    Biased opinion. It was a ridiculous stoppage. Kovalev was losing but as a former dominant champion he had a right to be given every chance to come back. This stoppage looked like a phantasmagoria.

      That's a good list and it's hard to deny any of that.

        Jeff Horn has to be mentioned as one of the 'other 2017 winners'.
        From no where, the former teacher was able to come into the limelight by defeating future hall of famer Manny Pacquiao.
        The general boxing fans did not know him prior to his fight against Manny but he has shot into fame.

          No, Kovalev quit.

          Andre Ward's LEGAL bodyshots sapped his will to fight and he didn't want anymore of that work. It was plain to see.

            agreed with Horn and I would add Rigondeaux to the "losers". For as much hype as he was getting to then quit without even getting hurt?
            come. on.

              Agree on both counts, Horn made a name for himself(even if aided) and should get some nice purses, rigo made a name for himself(quitondeaux) and with no belt, nobody else will be eager to fight him for any money, toast.

                Mayweather biggest winner.
                As usual. TBE. It's not even close.

                Losers = manny, ggg, kov.

                  It isn't the last punch. Look at this for example.

                    The last punch strayed low but the damage had already been done to Kovalev by then.
