I guess Mundine's a naturally bigger guy than Horn, which makes this fight slightly less crap, but it's still far from good. Horn has had his one "gimme" fight with Corcoran, now he should be aiming to challenge the top Welters if he wants to make a real mark. That said, even when he beat Pacquiao I wondered whether he'd want to do that or if he'd be content just raking in easy money at home. Looks like he's opted for the latter.

Haven't been able to get a gauge for a full example, but it seems like Mundine in Australia would be akin to Brock Lesnar in the UFC; Lesnar's 5-3-1 in MMA but if he went back tomorrow, he'd likely be able to do a million PPV buys.

Mundine is a big deal in Australia, even now.

Kind of a tangent, but how big could Mundine-Horn be in Australia? I'm assuming that they'll take the fight to Suncorp or some other stadium, but is there enough juice there to draw 60k Aussies to the venue? Also, what's PPV like in Australia?

Because, my thinking anyway, if the money is as big as I imagine it to be, Jeff Horn can likely beat an aged Mundine for a big check, put up the money to have Sadam Ali come to Australia with the WBO 154lb belt (how good Ali actually is is still suspect, even with the Cotto win, largely due to how he did against Vargas), and then simply park himself in Australia with the WBO belt and run things akin to what Felix Sturm did in Germany for as long as he can (WBO rarely calls mandatory challengers, and their rankings are likely the worst of the 4 bodies anyway).

String together enough title defenses before he eventually gets beat (I don't rate Horn all that highly, tbh) and he could end up where Mundine is; enough name value in the country to still command the public's attention for the one-off fight.

Is he hope or is he the goods

Only Horn and his camp can answer the question, but I'd he's hope, and they see him as hope, you act accordingly.

He's already achieved more than they could've imagined in boxing well enough to get the Pacquiao scores; don't tempt fate.

I'd rather watch crocodile Dundee versus a kangaroo than watch these two muppets fight.
