The oppression and racism are real, alive and well in the US, but in Wilder's case, I don't think he's correct. Wilder is not that skilled at all and isn't a thing of beauty to watch. He has no boxing skills, special effects, finesse, or the personality, just like GGG.

Now, in Floyd's case, there is certainly a case for racism and jealousy. Someone like Floyd comes along once in a lifetime or two, yet all you hear about him is what an asshole he is. Floyd is an American boxing legend. Wilder, not at all.

Did u even bother to read the whole article?
Cry me a river with this sob story. He is unpopular because he don't have what great boxers have. Great skill, recognizable names on their records, and a personality that did not come off as forced.

So I guess I was just dreaming when Trayvon, Sandra Bland and 12 year old Tamir Rice were all murdered by White cops. My bad!!!

I bet u can't name 3 White people off the top of your head who were murdered by cops ?

If he wasn't black he would get even less coverage. Fighting nothing but unranked bums and yelling out bomb squad when you should be yelling out bum squad isn't going to get you a lot of media coverage except from the casual fan who doesn't understand that you are fighting bums, they think you are doing nothing wrong.

Ali while fighting white boxers used to call them “cracker”, “
honkey” “white devil”. how about those apples ?

What are the media supposed to do? Convince the public that Wilder is fighting world class opponents when that is demonstrably not true? It's a hard sell when there are other top dogs in the HW division that he hasn't fought yet.

Or is that just because that was back in the 70s and 80s and 90s, you know, when the country was so much less racist than 2017 where white people are so much more racist?

Y'all don't even make ****ing sense. Y'all keep having to invent new theories to fit your victim mentality, like the other poster above you with his ridiculous white Americans-white Brits telepathy theory about how Joshua is more accepted by white Americans due to osmosis with white Brits... are you ****ing kidding me?? LOL. Y'all keep having to invent new theories to fit your victim mentality, and they just get more ****** every time because of how reality gets less and less like how y'all perceive it every year. America has never been less racist than it is now. it is one of the least racist nations on the planet in 2017. It's not perfect, but American racism is not the reason that cherry picking Haymon boxers of ALL races get no respect. Mikey Garcia isn't getting much either because he keeps cherry picking. Neither did Danny Garcia. It's the same story over and over. The few who have actually tried to fight the best, and been good enough to win, like Spence and Thurman, have actually gotten the respect that DSG and Wilder didn't, and that's for a reason, but even they have barely fought any top opponents.

That's just a fact. Stop inventing ways to blame things on race. Wilder is in his 30s and has never fought a top opponent. That's the issue.

Lol I dunno man I think there is a bit of white on white osmosis going on
2017 is very different to Ali's era

Nah there something in what you say, if he beats Ortiz (who may be starting to peek over the hill but still dangerous) and gets hyped good in USA then 50/50 is not out of the question. At the moment it's ridiculous but he can grow over the next while for a tasty undisputed unification.
