Comments Thread For: Bob Arum Reacts To Mikey Garcia's Claim on Lomachenko Fight

Mikey Garcia (37-0, 30 KOs) had been the recipient of a pretty heavy, and only certain to increase, push on the part of promoter Top Rank in 2013 headed to 2014. Being savvy sorts who understand the stable needs to be filled and then re filled with studs, Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum and company looked to Garcia, from the Fighting Garcia Family, as an heir, if not the primary heir, to gain market share in visibility and prominence as their pac(k) leader Manny Pacquiao slid himself further into the political realm, while he fended off Father Times' talons.

    December 22, 2017:

“I really resent using the names of other fighters that way, saying “he won’t fight me, the promoter wont allow it.” - Bob Arum

    December 19, 2017:

Lomachenko made that clear Tuesday by sending a Tweet to Floyd Mayweather Jr. that referred to Mayweather’s reluctance to match Davis against him. Mayweather, whose company promotes Davis, has repeatedly indicated that Davis won’t fight Lomachenko at any point in the foreseeable future.

Lomachenko’s Tweet stated: Floydmayweather It would have been an honor to fight you in your prime but I’m not talking about you. Please stop hiding your fighter.

The feeling still isn’t likely to be mutual, but Vasyl Lomachenko wants to fight Gervonta Davis. For once arum is talking sensibly, it's too bad I doubt hes serious about it happening in 2018. If Loma was to take this fight I would never say anything bad about him ever again. I am happy if he at least faces Berchelt or any other champ at 130-135, I'm not that picky I just want to see him tested vs elites his own size.

Arum talks sensibly a lot. What he does is a whole other story.

Floyd himself said he would not allow Gervonta to fight Loma. Loma responded to him. Garcia was just tossing out bull**** LOL

Why is it bull****? Because Arum said so?

No because Garcia just said it out in the air without even trying, while he himself is lining up other fights to fill up his 2018.

“I know Bob won’t say anything positive about that. I don’t even know if [Lomachenko] is actually interested in facing me. The way I know Top Rank works, they’ll have somebody else in line for him to win a title at 35 or maybe even at 40. Most likely, he’s not gonna wanna face me because Bob won’t allow it.

He is doing exactly what he was trying to accuse bob as doing LOL

This fight won't happen; at least not now. Mikey left top rank because of money issue. Not getting what he feel he deserves. Rigo got $400k for the loma fight. I can tell you now Mikey won't entertain the fight without being guaranteed AT LEAST $1.5 mil. This will happen when it builds up to a PPV fight.
