He became one when he signed to fight Golovkin. Had nothing to do with what he did in the ring.

He only has one fight to go before the GGG/Canelo winner will fight him in a unification. He has the final piece to be undisputed, unified champion. Fighting Jacobs brings nothing to his position fighting him in the U.S over fighting in the U.K. He's not going to risk a massive payday and give away home advantage to fight Jacobs, I wouldn't, not when bigger fights are in the works for Spetember.

He just put his name in the mix by fighting Lemioux and would be a credible opponent for Canelo or GGG, never mind having the WBO belt as well.

If he went to Canada knowing he could get robbed, he shouldn't have any problem going to New York. He would be welcomed a whole lot more than he was in Canada.

If all he's doing is waiting for the winner of Canelo/Golovkin just say so. We know you have no interest in fighting Jacobs.

I’m not sure if it makes a difference personally especially if Canelo is involved. Canelo can carry that fight regardless and the fact the fight will most likely be for all the belts is a bigger selling point than a victory over Jacobs in my humble opinion.

yeah but who's guaranteeing that he gets the shot at Canelo vs ggg winner? He can potentially end up pulling an amir khan on himself and let good fights pass him by while waiting for the big fight that never happens. If Canelo wins, he's already proven that he doesn't care about belts and golden boy has already talked down saunders as an opponent because of his style. If ggg wins, he wants the WBO but there may be more on the table to rematch jacobs based on the competitiveness of their first fight. Then what does saunders do?

potentially, but all of the belts being on the line doesn't pull as much weight as it used to, and Canelo does great ppv numbers vs other guys who have a name. Him vs saunders may not do much better than what Canelo did vs beefy Smith. You may be looking at 400k
