Had lemieux won, he would've been an option for canelo but right now, there are no easy options at mw. Whether Canelo had to rematch ggg, fight saunders, or charlo, there's no easy pickings like what he was able to do with khan, beefy and Chavez jr.

Saunders is what I call a well balanced fighter... he can box and he can trade when he plants his feet like he did with Lemieux.
I would call running when a fighter just does potshots and moves, Saunders was moving and making great combinations.
Canelo looked bad against Lara... Golden Boy just doesn't want their Gold egg to get schooled, that's all!

HBO is pretty much to blame when it comes to GB saying that a fight against Saunders wouldn't be entertaining. Max Kellerman has pretty much gone out of his way to ***** on fighters who box. Every fight that someone is not standing there and slugging it out, Max is quick to ask if fans would tune in to watch fighters that box. Of course the HBO crew will only ***** on non HBO fighters but when one of there's boxes like Saunders they get all the praise. Funny how GB says they want exciting fights but what exciting Canelo fight has there been?

De La Hoya knows that against Lara his fighter (Canelo) got a gift, many people saw Lara win that fight except these mysterious judges that keep favoring Canelo even when it's obvious he lost..Now they are going to duck Saunders with tbe age old excuses that he's boring, doesn't sell, is not fan friendly ect ect..
