However, I doubt Canelo would wanna fight Saunders, after the boxing lesson the latter gave Lemieux. Last I heard about De La Hoya, he wants to fight Mayweather or something. Maybe I'm just jumping to conclusions, but it's like Canelo and Golden Boy Promotions are having a tough time choosing between GGG and Saunders. It'd suck if GGG has to wait until September, since he could age overnight.

No point right now, most of the public are thinking about Christmas/New year and all that madness. Nobody is doing business right now announcing fights. They will wait for things to settle down in the new year for maximum exposure and people's attention. That's how marketing works.

Unless fighters are already fighting in January/February/possibly march, pretty much nobody has a fight signed or being announced for these reasons.

Saunders won't be an easy fight for Canelo, and they know it now. Let's say he does take that route and they have a lineal unification bout at the end of the year, who does GGG face in the meantime?
