  • Comments Thread For: Saunders: Lemieux Performance Will Scare Off Canelo, Golovkin

As satisfying as it was to dominate David Lemieux before his hometown fans, Billy Joe Saunders suspects he hurt his chances of landing bigger fights. The unbeaten British southpaw wants big-money matchups with Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin. Saunders understands that they're likely headed toward a middleweight championship rematch May 5, but even if negotiations break down, Saunders doesn't think Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) or Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs) would face him next.

Watch all the Canelo and GGG fans throw out all the Saunders is boring excuses, Saunders doesn't bring anything to the table, Saunders can't sell PPV, etc. I'm not sure Saunders could be those guys but it will be exciting to see! No doubt Lemeiux is a limited fighter and a little overrated but I didn't realize how big Saunders is! I see GGG taking the fight against Saunders but I don't see Canelo/Oscar or Jacobs taking that fight. One big difference between Lemeiux & GGG is the GGG has a great Jab plus he's knows how to cut off the ring! Which is something David has know idea how to do!

Don't lul yourself into that nonsense. If anything, this was perfect because it makes Saunders look legit again, thus making a fight with him more profitable.

I'm glad BJS is "back" and finally got into shape again. But, even at his best, he's still a level below GG and Canelo, no doubt.

If he'd of stopped lemieux in the 7th he'd never get a fight off g or canelo as it stands canelo has no choice but to fight ggg now then Saunders gets his shot

David L. must really feel like a class A wanker. All the trash gutter talk of what and where he was going to put BJS.and the nearest he got to him was pushing him before the bell.Said he hurt his hand in the second ...lol.

Said BJS. ran all night ....lol ...with his face and his nose busted .What really makes this guy a grade 1 tosser is that everyone saw how he was dismantled and he hasn't got the sportsmanship to admit it .This is what fools are made of as they dig themselves a massive hole and try to hide when they are clearly in plain sight. He has made this situation so much worst and will never hear the last of it.

Well done BJS............Haven't heard the little meerkat pipe up (Eubank jr.)

              Gtfo here with that
Billy jack is domestic talent at best
              Not a world class fighter
Uk fighters are always 2nd tier in my honest opinion

Saunders isn't your average British boxer with poor defense and no head movement, you can't deny he has skills it's still a little early to call him elite but he is a world class fighter

                    That was impressive fair play

Wasn't really interested in the fight so passed on it .

Read everyone's comments on here and had to give it a blast

Hands down the best fight I've seen bjs in . Made Lemieux look daft
