Statement made. I thought this was going to be a 50/50 fight and in no way it was. Saunders was a matador tonight and Lemeiux looked like an out of shape cruiserweight.
There are levels and Saunders looks to be in the elite fighter while Lemeiux looks like a one trick pony.
Interested to see who Saunders fights next. It will not be GGG or Canelo for sure.
If I'm Frank Warren and Saunders I figure a way to get a Rosado or O'Sullivan next then fight Canelo vs GGG winner.
As for Lemieux he needs to a change in his corner and need to figure out a diet plan. He's too small for Super Middleweight and isn't skilled enough for the Top 5 Middleweights in the division.
Also how the judges gave any rounds to Lemieux or the guy who lost in the opening bout is beyond me. Both got schooled easily.
How the f0ck is he too small for super middle? lol He would get embarrassed that's what it is. Garbage fighter all the way and I knew him from day one.
BJS has a style that would give Canelo, or an aging GGG fits.
He is a jerk, he is hated by so many fans, but he would give either man a serious fight, and could easily beat them. He is a boxer puncher, but his movement(legs and hips) is what will make him dangerous to either man.
I agree he isn't easy for anyone. But top opponents like Charlo, Jacobs, Canelo and Golovkin won't be sitting targets. They all have more dimensions to their games than Lemieux. He has no jab and bad footwork. He is a gate keeper to the next level. I think Saunders confirmed he is at the next level.
