Would Kovalev have won the second fight against Ward if he...

Had properly convinced the ref that he was low-blowed?

nah...kovalev would have eventually retired or gone down...he was just about done...ward would have finished him even with a deducted point or two...ward always finds a way to win

SOG is a winner...undefeated two division world champ....he done ****d the game for almost 20 mil the last couple years...not to shabby for a guy with no fans and no style huh?

I think he was on his way to either stopping kovalev or winning a UD.
I still feel kovalev won the first fight 114-113 (the knockdown being the difference)

ward won the second fight clearly, but I guess we will never know what could of been

The stoppage was horrible. No Ward or Kovalevs fault.

He would’ve won if forgot about the 2nd fight and moved on after the gift decision Ward got in the 1st fight. Wards team was playing hardball and no one would’ve faulted Kovalevs team if they moved on.

Kovalev lost the second fight before it started. No question. Ward was deep in his head.

That said, I definitely think Kovalev deserved the win in the first fight.

Kovalev's oddly fast start burned through his hard 10-rounds tank in half that time, Ward had basically figured out Kovalev's range, and he was landing with clean hard shots.

Exhaustion is still exhaustion; no idea how Kovalev, even with the reprieve, would've made it to the 10th.

Duva promoting this guy as the "Crusher" did far more harm
than good. He is no devasting puncher, he went the distance with a 68 year old Bernard and did nothing against with his "power"!
The opponents he stopped were just that "opponents".
When he ran into Ward who showed his will to win and didn't "crush" so well.
This guy is a solid guy for his era but in the history of light heavies he's far from a great fight and right now he doesn't even compete very well.
In their first fight Koval needed to step on the pedal and he would have won but he did NOT have the will to win.

                    Good boxer far from great.
Good power no where near devastating!

If he continues with a few more light touches they'll ruin him.
