Maxim Vlasov.

He was a decent (or above average) fighter at Super Middleweight, was shut out by Gilberto Ramirez in a lackluster performance in 2015. Two fights later he made a huge leap to the Crusierweight division and has been making some noise over in Russia.

He's had 9 fights so far at the new weight class in two years - he's stopped 8 of those opponents. His two most notable victories are both stoppage victories over Ismayl Sillah and Rakhim Chakhkiev.

There's too many prominent ruskies for my liking all these clandestine surnames I can't pronounce. can't they be named generically for english speaking audiences names like. He wasn't really shut down by Ramirez - he won solid 3-4 rounds there and was very competitive. Second best win on Zurdo's record in my book, other than Jesse Hart.
Vlasov is solid and adjusted surprisingly well to higher weight-class. I think he can compete with the bottom top 10 and the rest of the bunch - because he's definitely well schooled and carried decent speed from lower weight class while maintaining pretty strong - but I think the very best - like the top 4 from the WBSS tournament - would prove too much for him.
I think he could beat Lebedev though.

You're right he won a couple of rounds. He looked very poor in that fight though lol, that's why the changes were.

That speed from the lower weight class, and that style of his in my opinion is going to be difficult for even the top of the division to deal with from my point of view. He's deceptively good, kind of catches you off guard because he seems so basic.

I would just like more people to start paying attention to him, and I want to see those fights with the guys at the top made. I feel he can surprise and even upset a few of them.

Pretty much agree with all of this, I think he can become/is a genuine contender in the CW division. Him picking up a belt is a bit of a stretch though IMO. Although he was probably drained he showed a few flaws in the Ramirez fight particularly technical flaws. He also showed vulnerabilities in the Chakhiev win. I think Vlasov is a little on the small side for a CW, not in terms of height but in terms of his physical structure and bulk
He’s in an unfortunate position where his natural fighting weight would be around 185-190lbs so he can either drain himself to make 175 or give away physical advantages to his opponents at CW.

Btw a side note about that Chakhiev fight, it was shown on tape delay over here in the UK and Paddy Power (a bookmaker) assumed it was live and were still offering a market, I got 3/1 on Vlasov already knowing he’d won����
