Im betting Wilder goes down as the worst HW champion in history bc i wont believe an Ortiz fight happens until they BOTH step foot in the ring and i actually did an entire thread on it way before that fight was even announced .

I dont think he stands much of a chance against Joshua so really where does this leave his hollow resume without those wins ?

Joshua himself will in all likely hood fight all the top guys , Wilders path thus far doesn't actually suggest he wants many top fights not without a Joshua win first so hes just piggy backing off of his name .

This makes him canidate of worst HW champion right now , ive watched boxing for decades and ive never seen anything like it where a guy has 40 fights practically and only fought 2 ranked HW's in top 10 as champion which was Molina and Szpilka not included the fighters that the WBC manipulated in a top 10 spot like Arreola and Washington .

The nut cases can blame Povetkin all they want . ONE guy (who was MANDATORY ) isnt a reason for a 40 fight resume that looks terrible .

I find myself in new territory...I actually agree with you 100%, I also have never seen someone 40-0 with only stiffs on the record and being touted as the best. I remember Calzaghe used to get scolded for not having a great resume when he was in the 30+ fights, but at least he was fighting more closely ranked fighters on his mandatory list and beat Eubank for the title.

Too bad Fury has mental issues & a long layoff. Prime Fury would clown the bodybuilder IMO. Joshua is a Ivan Drago type lab creation while Fury is a natural fluid boxer

I hope we see a fit Fury, but after 2 plus years of weighing 360 plus, I'm wondering what that does to a 6'9 fellas body, joints, stamina, etc. But regardless, that fight has to be made and you know he'll take it. It'll just be interesting to see if he's the same guy after 2 and a half years when he finally fights again.

He did manage to mentally rattle Wlad.

I also have a hard time thinking he'd mentally rattle AJ before the fight too. For some reason I could see Fury's style and tactics frustrating AJ though (assuming Fury is in top form if/when they fight)

Yeah I've wondered what lingering or long-term effects being that overweight for a period of time could have on a person. Obviously they'd be negative if anything, but hopefully negligible for Tyson's sake and the sake of people wanting to see a good fight between him and AJ/Wilder!

100% agree. Almost wondering if Wlad would mind some revenge trying to get him the first fight back for a come out of retirement final fight. That would be interesting. Probably won't happen, but would be interesting.
