DIVS, Ekaterinburg - In a WBA, WBO final eliminator, Alexander Povetkin (33-1, 23 KOs) won a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over Christian Hammer (22-5, 12 KOs). With the victory, Povetkin has placed himself in line for a mandatory shot in 2018 against either Anthony Joshua or Joseph Parker - and both champions are currently in talks to fight each other in the first quarter of next year.

It was a glorified sparring session. They touched gloves at least 5 times per round.

Povetkin better be lucky he’s not associated with Haymon Floyd etc. He’d of been boycotted and ran out of boxing by now following a 3 page spread from Thomas Hauser

Absolutely dreadful fight. One of the worst heavyweight fights I have ever seen.

Make It Happen! AJ vs Povetkin is a good fight as long as Povetkin test clean

Good fight on Povetkins part but he really needed to put the subtle skilled Hammer who came to survive and ate solid shots with minimum offensive effort away . Lopsided fight that was 12 ZIP !

Cant take away from a clear dominant win but Hammer offered nothing but showing durability , Povetkin had a complete Heavy bag in front of him offering little resistance and SOME craftiness by avoiding direct shots .

This fight is neither here or there for me .Povetkin dominated as expected against a guy he should have been able in the very least hurt more .

Yeah why fight his biggest challenge when Joshua can fight Dillan White again.
