Comments Thread For: Saunders: Lemieux Is Walking Punching Bag; Must KO Me to Win

David Lemieux claims he is more than just a puncher. The former IBF middleweight champion feels his boxing ability is underrated not only by fans and media, but by Billy Joe Saunders. That'll help, according to Lemieux, the French-Canadian contender become a two-time 160-pound champion when he challenges Saunders on Saturday night for the WBO middleweight title in Laval, Quebec (HBO; 9:40 p.m. ET).

As much as I cant stand Saunders he should be able to box his way to a safe victory. Hoping Lemmy catches him and puts him down but I just dont see it happening.

David to me look so average in many areas. He telegraphs so much, is flat footed and hasn't got a good defence. I feel he will miss a lot vs Billy and the fight will look like poop overall.

IMO David is going to lose by 2 or 3 rounds because BJS will box him but get the decision because of home town cooking.

I agree, but after watching the weigh-in today, Lemioux looks drained and his stamina won't hold up while missing an chasing BJS for the early rounds.

Expect a stoppage later in Saunders favour, no way this is going the distance with Lemioux getting outboxed and not landing.
