Comments Thread For: Lipinets: I Expect To Hit Mikey Garcia - Let's See How He Handles It!

IBF junior welterweight champion, Sergey Lipinets, will be taking a big step as it has been announced that he will be facing three-time divisional champion, Mikey Garcia on February 10th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The fight will be televised by Showtime. Through his manager, Alex Vaysfeld, he told BoxingScene.com - "When I won my title it was a great fight with the Japanese fighter, (Akihiro) Kondo but it didn't feel right to me at that time or even after that like I'm a champion and that I'm respected by the boxing community by beating him."

I like Lipinets. But, he's an all-arounder going against a guy who excels in nearly every area. I can always think of some way in which a fighter can overcome an obstacle if the stars align but I don't see how Sergey can find a way to win here.

I expect the first round or 2 being slow paced then Mikey in full control by 6 and Lipinets to be asleep in round 8.

This fight won’t tell us anything we don’t already know about Garcia, Mikey by KO easy work. I’d love to see him face Barthelemy if he gets past Relikh or I’d like to see the Easter fight

Probably will handle it better than that bum you just went the distance with. He's gonna hit you back. Will you bend the knee? Will you quit on your stool? You might just get ktfo. I'll watch. Get the ol kettle corn out but I'm not looking forward or counting down the days to this one. Atleast I get to see Spence in with a more experienced and underrated Peterson. I guess that's all I'm looking forward to in 2018 til the big cinco de mayo rematch is finalized.

Kazakhstan about to take two L's back to back in 2018, they really should have one loss already but they robbed Canelo, next year they get swept.

I thought Mikey looked a little undersized at 140, despite winning comfortably vs Broner.

Not really any good opponents for him there at the moment either.

Would prefer him to stay at 135 and keep the hopes of the Loma fight alive. Easter Jnr and Linares are better than anything he will get at 140 right now

Lipinets is ok, not that high on him. Mikey should win comfortably.

Lipinets is thrash and Mikey knows that. When he beats Lipinets with ease, Mikey fans will be overrating that win like Lipinets was some elite caliber of fighter when he's even worse than Broner
