Comments Thread For: Carl Frampton vs. Nonito Donaire in Play For April 7 in Belfast?

According to promoter Frank Warren, former world champion Carl Frampton's next fight will be in Belfast on April 7. And the opponent being discussed at the moment is former four division world champion Nonito Donaire. Frampton (24-1, 14 KOs) recently made his comeback with a ten round unanimous decision win over Horacio Garcia at the SSE Arena in Belfast on November 18th. It was Frampton first bout since suffering his first career defeat, when he dropped the WBA featherweight title to Leo Santa Cruz at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in late January.

Shttt! I love this matchup but why so far off? Why not February or March.

I’m looking for forward to seeing Nonito knock the midget out.

Nonito by KO, I gave also Donaire the nod against Magdaleno.

Think hes just stuck himself in the middle of the dates of his preferred next fight. Santa Cruz/Mares expected March, Selby/Warrington in May. Warrens promised him a stadium fight in the summer in Ireland, part of the deal he signed

April? Is Frampton busy running a multimillion pound business or something? The guy needs to fight. we saw what he looked like last time out.

Anyway, if this happens, Frampton wins.

Too soon for Frampton I think, needed another good outing before tackling the best of best again, depending on which Nonito shows up, think if he’s looking sharp Frampton loses a UD

If Donaire has anything left, he'll knock Frampton out. Frampton is good, but I just don't see anything special about him. I thought he barely won his last fight.

This is a case of either Donaire makes weight healthy, isn't shot to bits and wrecks Frampton or he comes in drained as fùck, shot to bits and gets wrecked by Frampton.

Donaire is looking pretty big these days.
