because the fight isn't happening until May! Canelo fights on Cinco De Mayo and Mexican Independence day everyone knows that. Canelo/Chavez wasn't agreed until mid Jan. May/Pac wasn't signed until end of Feb. Both fights took place Cinco De Mayo like Canelo/GGG is targeted for. So if you golden boy no incentive to sign this fight so far out when GGG's promoter has no balls and keeps bending over to you. They are giving you leverage so why not take it? Remember after the fight GGG's promoter said need a rematch signed in a few weeks or GGG will take a fight in Dec? That came and went and Loeffler said ok we need a fight signed by Nov or GGG is taking a fight in March. Then it was we need a fight signed before Dec. That came and went. He just keeps pushing the goal posts back and makes weak threats of taking GGG elsewhere when Golden Boy and the world knows there is nowhere else to go if he's looking for a big payday.

And Saunders just said this week if he wins on Sat he wants to fight Canelo next. No chance GGG can outbid Canelo if there is a bidding war to fight Saunders for the WBO. And Lemieux is already signed with Golden Boy so if he wins he is not fighting GGG. So waiting helps promote Lemieux/Saunders fight and whoever wins will be used as leverage against GGG to make sure he agrees to every term Canelo wants. GGG got ****d in negotiations last time so bad that K2 demanded the terms of their deal stay confidential as part of their contract. Now they have no choice but to sit and wait to get ****d again.

It's not really up for debate. Unofficial fight night weights may not be as micro-accurate as the official weigh-ins, but Canelo was consistently a few lbs heavier than golovkin even when he was fighting at 154. At 160 he's really stocky.

It's OK though. He's not purely a weight cutter like chavez jr. He has some skill behind it. But would canelo even have a chance vs golovkin if he was smaller? I don't think so.

Your going straight ****** on this one,hes 5'9" & has ALWAYS made weight at 154 even when guys like liam smith couldn't & smith was bigger than canelo.

Ggg ALWAYS has rehydrated to mid 170s as was proven when he had the morning of fight weigh in & he weighed 170 vs jacobs.

Ggg is 5'11" & a career mw(even in olympics)who has refused on multiple occasions to drop even a single lb to make a big fight. Only a true canelo hater could ever try to make it out that Canelos bigger than ggg,a fighters height is ALWAYS relevant when determining these things,its impossible for a taller fighter to be weight bullied by a shorter 1, IMPOSSIBLE since they have every opportunity to rehydrate higher than opponent does due to being taller,if a fighter is taller & chooses to rehydrate less it's because they are going for speed.

Yes I agree it hit and don't get hit but it's also not giving away long periods of the rounds. That cost Canelo the fight. I had G winning eight rounds.
The fight was somewhat similar to the Lara fight. Lara did not punch enought in some of the rounds and he ended up losing to Canelo. Canelo did better in the center of the ring exchanging with G than he did on the ropes. Unless he felt G's power and knew he wouldn't last trading punches going to the ropes was ******. He got into a defensive posture and didn't punch enough to make up for it.

What does it say about GGG if he could not hit let alone put in jeopardy a supposed cement foot plodder with stamina issues? Canelo is a good boxer who can also ****. The reason GGG did not commit to the body is the same reason Chavez Jr. didn't. Canelo's counters hurt. GGG got the vapors after he was tagged a few times.
