My Technical breakdown of Loma vs Rigo.

Loma is right handed. He fights in an unconventional Southpaw stance, and indeed his strong hand is his lead hand. He said his father trained him this way on purpose, he wanted his strong hand in front.

This approach is used by western fencing in which the strong arm is positioned in front since obviously it does everything. For a boxing southpaw like Loma, the rear cross, as a punch with leverage, affords power to the weaker arm.

Loma will also do quick switches to righty fairly often to get shots in and then reset. He does it so quickly you have to look for it.

I really don't care. I'm not a fan of either guy but that was the reality of that fight.

Most fights he does go both right or left just as easy.This fight he KNEW to go to Rigo right all night because his only big punch was st8 left.He was almost always going to rigo's right and hitting him at will with jab and hooks to rigo's right.

Nothing much to break down in my opinion. Loma came to fight hard and win. Rigo never really showed up. He hardly ever threw a punch in anger and spent the whole fight holding Loma's arms to make him stop hitting him or ducking down so low Loma's only target was the back of his head. Then he quit in the corner claiming a debatable hand injury. How did he injure his left hand when he never landed a hard left or at least I never saw one land with any power?
