Lomachenko would smack Pacquiao across the ring for 12 rounds at this point. Would have been amazing if this was a prime 135 Pac though.

I'd like to see him redeem himself against Horn; even old and shot he can easily win that fight. Other than that, he should just call it a day.
The problem is, because Pacquiao is hitting such bigger guys, they do not go down with one punch. They do not stop coming forward from just a few punches. In the past, Pacquiao overcame this by having the best stamina in boxing and throwing 800+ punches per fight. He overwhelmed bigger men with activity. But now that he's aged, the speed and power have stayed to some extent, but the stamina is where the real huge decline has happened. Pacquiao doesn't have the energy to constantly jump around these bigger guys nad give them angles when they keep charging at him all night. They lean on Pacquiao with their extra weight and fatigue him even more.
Pacquiao still has skills, speed (not prime but still very good), power (still elite), and a chin. He just hasn't have the stamina to outwork much bigger men anymore. But put him back down at 135, where his body won't have to artificially carry extra weight to make 147 and his stamina will be better, and where guys like Loma will be devastated by his power, and Pacquiao won't have to rely as much on throwing 800 punches to win a fight, which he can't do anymore. Pacquiao is a 400-500 punch per fight guy now, but at 135, with the power Pacquiao would carry at that weight, that is still enough to be an elite fighter.
Pacquiao at 147 is a past prime, historically undersized volume puncher without knockout power. Pacquiao at 135 is GGG (minus the output and jab, but with way more speed). Pacquiao at 135 is the biggest puncher we've seen at 135 in a decade. And he has speed, chin, and skills too. Lomachenko vs Pacquiao at 135 is one of the best fights in boxing. And Pacquiao says he can make it easy.
Y'all keep forgetting, styles, and WEIGHTS, make fights. It's the same thing as people ****ting on Lomachenko-Linares, but asking to see Mikey-Linares. Y'all have it completely backwards. Linares has thin skin. Mikey cut someone's ear half off with punches. Linares has a weak chin. Mikey is one of the biggest punchers P4P in boxing. And Mikey is just as big as Linares. So the styles match up horribly. All Linares weaknesses line up to Mikey's strengths. That's an EASY bet Mikey will win that fight 99 out of 100 times.
But Loma vs Linares? Loma's strengths are his great legs. Linares also has great legs. Loma's strengths are his speed, skills, and combinations. Linares also. And yet Linares is a natural 140 fighting at 135. He is HUGE compared to Loma. Linares' biggest weakness, his chin, will be protected by the fact he would be fighting a much smaller man who doesn't even have one punch KO power at 130, let alone 135. And Linares has over 3 inches in reach on him. Lomachenko would basically have to fight a much bigger, and more powerful, version of himself. That is a way better fight.
Styles make fights. Weights make fights. At 147, fighting way bigger guys, Pacquiao is done. It's boring. He doesn't have the output anymore to make up for being undersized. But at 135, Pacquiao's career is still very interesting, and he has a great chance of beating the smaller, less powerful man, Vasyl Lomachenko. When is the last time Pacquiao has fought a smaller man? Y'all don't even know what it would look like, because it's been so long. Y'all will be surprised. This is the fight to make this year.Last edited by Boxing Logic; 12-12-2017, 05:05 AM.

Lomachenko is a helluva fighter, and deservedly would say pound for pound the best, although with only a few fights but against top opposition. Crawford could maybe challenge for the mythical position. Loma not quite as powerful as Pacquaio but would dazzle him with his skills.

yup at 135 pac vs loma would be a hell of a fight. pac will probably only fight 1 or 2 more times tops before he really quits, i'd like to see him against loma before he does retire. both of their styles would make for a great fight.

Pac might not make 135 anymore, he is old, not much time to train and the bigger name maybe at 138 to 140, this is a 50/50 fight, Loma will win on points but there is a big chance he will get KOed. Pac can easily eat his punches.
Pac will not quit or hold.

As said in article this a fight for casuals. It would get people to tune in. Old or not people would talk and it would be good for Loma.
I remember when Wlad fought Rahman, few casual friends went "oh **** he KOd Rahman???!?" because that name rings a bell....

I wake up to this dumb a*s comment thread. Leave the Pac man alone. He's not fighting Lomo. Hell he's not even fighting Horn.
It's over. He just got some type of promotion in his country that increased his responsibilities. I don't think he'll ever fight again. And truthfully he doesn't need it. Some of you "fans" are ridiculous. These fantasy fights are just dumb.Last edited by Butch.McRae; 12-12-2017, 06:37 AM.
