Golovkin beat Canelo because Canelo didn't fight long enough in most rounds. It's fine that he landed punches and they were nice punches but he lost points for giving up the center of the ring. Ring generalship. He lost points for being outpunched along the ropes. He lost points for not fighting for prolonged stretches. The punches he did land weren't enough to make up for it. You can analyse it your way but the majority of observers felt Golovkin was robbed.
well, " the majority of observers " also blamed Mayweather when Pacquiao inexplicably refused random blood tests
sooooo..... whoop-de-shht
forget Byrd..... one judge scored that fight a draw, and the judge who scored for Golovkin gave him the nod by ONE POINT..... so "the majority of observers" can forget using the word "robbery"
also, you " forgot " to mention defence, which is valid scoring criteria..... and Golovkin missed a TON of punches
Golovkin's game, was to stalk Canelo, breaking him down and stopping him..... Canelo's game, was to outbox Golovkin, making him miss and making him pay..... so, who's gameplan most accurately describes what happened in that fight?
Golovkin looked ponderously slow and flat-footed at times, missing wildly with a TON of punches..... he could not control Canelo, let alone break him down..... and was largely ineffective during some of those middle rounds
in Vegas..... against a superstar..... Golovkin was VERY lucky to keep his titles
