Linares has 3 unavenged knockout losses. He's a shirker. Loma needs to fight Mikey next. And then move up to junior welter where he could get Crawford to come back down. Belts don't make a fight... fighters do.

Loma will UD him clearly, landing maybe 5-10 actually hard shots, otherwise just peppering Linares from mid/close range with love taps.
He'll generally win on activity, Ring generalship, & defense.

But I would like to see Linares play the run & counter game, because he doesn't have the bullying style of Salido.

Linares has been on a small roll and throws some of the smoothest combinations in boxing besides Lomachenko. This is a crowd pleasing fight. Also, Linares biggest weakness is facing power punchers, and Loma is more of a boxer, making this an excellent matchup, unlike Mikey-Linares. Then, the winner of this can face Garcia.

Loma's 2018 should be Berchelt in March, Linares in June, Pacquiao at 135 in September (Pacquiao says he has to eat a lot to get up to 145 for welterweight weigh ins, that he can still make 135 easy, and it would be better for him to be at 135 anyway fighting guys his own size), and Mikey in December. The final two fights could also switch dates if it makes the Pacquiao fight bigger for Lomachenko to beat Mikey first.
